Julia Forbes is in search of a rather obscure bit of Military History. Can anyone help?
Julia’s grandmother, Alfreda Walsh, had managed the radio station at Canadian Forces Station Holberg and Julia recently discovered a treasure trove of 33 1/3 records in her grandmother’s closet. Consisting of Armed Forces Basic Music Library and Standard Program Library selections dating as far back as 1948, the records were made by the Electrical Program Transcription services based in the US and were shipped out to US and Canadian Armed Forces radio stations.
After doing some research Julia has discovered that some of these same records had been found in the US and were considered rather valuable. She is looking to find out more about the records and hopes that someone out there may have information leading to a complete index of the over 9000 records that were produced.
If you have any information please contact Julia at her email address.
