GEOFFREY WELLUM DFC

On Wednesday, July 18th, the last survivor of the “few” passed away in the United KIngdom. Pilot Officer Geoffrey Wellum DFC, pilot in the Battle of Britain, was 96 years old.

Amazingly, he was just 18 years old when he flew his first Spitfire in combat for RAF Squadron 92.

When aged 94 years old, he was approached by the British BBC TV to make a documentary of his service with the RAF.  He agreed on one condition, that the short film could not be released until after his death.  Here it is for you to watch.
