The family of Herbie Lightfoot will be holding a Celebration of Life at 888 Wing on Monday 24 April, 2017, between 2 and 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family has asked that you make a donation to the Comox Air Force Museum in Herbie’s name.

The CAFM commemorates the role and history of 19 Wing (CFB/RCAF/RAF), documenting significant achievements in West Coast Military Aviation History.
Founded in 1982 as part of the Air Force Indoctrination School, CAFM was accredited as a stand-alone Canadian Forces Museum and officially opened its doors to the public on 12 September 1987.
I am saddened by the news of Herbie’s passing.
He was the consummate example of the spirit of volunteerism, always working with an infectious good humour and a kind word for anyone lucky enough to interact with him.
I spent a lot of time alongside him on a number of projects which I can look back on fondly, knowing that despite whatever accolades I may have received, the most meaningful recognition came from Herbie and his sincere thanks on completion of a job no matter how small.
